Remote desktopSee and control your Mac from a Mac, iPhone, iPad or right in the browser. With keyboard shortcuts, multiple displays and one-click system actions like Mission Control.
Access your own devicesOne switch is all it takes: your Mac stays reachable, even after a restart, at the login window and when the screen is locked.
Displays & resolutionSwitch between displays, match the resolution to your window or view everything pixel-perfect at 1:1. Even Macs without a monitor deliver a sharp picture.
Browser accessConnect right in the browser, with nothing to install and the same end-to-end encryption as in the app. Browser sessions are confirmed by the person at the device.
Help with a support codeThe other person reads you a short support code and confirms the session visibly on their own device. They can end it at any time.
Share your screenShare your iPhone or iPad screen with your other devices or via a support code. For showing and explaining: iOS allows viewing only, no remote control.
Privacy modeShield the remote screen from onlookers. The live session remains visible and can be ended on the host.
File transferSend files both ways during a session. Keep track of progress and incoming transfers.
ClipboardCopy text between devices. Clipboard sharing is part of your session controls.
Existing PCs via RDPOpen existing Windows Remote Desktop PCs in the same app, directly or through one of your devices on the same network, with no port forwarding. VNC and SSH follow.
Terminal & SSHOpen a shell or work together in a terminal. For tasks that do not need a full desktop.
Access to servicesReach web interfaces, files and services behind a device, such as your own server or NAS.
Groups & favoritesAll your devices at a glance: groups, favourites, search and live status. DeskRanger finds devices on the same network by itself.
Device informationSee CPU, memory, storage and versions. Query your own devices without starting a screen session.
Teams & rolesLook after devices together and set responsibilities: shared groups, tiered roles and channels for the whole team.
End-to-end encryptionSession content stays between your devices. Coordination servers cannot read screens, keystrokes or files in plaintext.
Device lockNew devices need approval from a device you already trust, so a stolen password alone is not enough to get in.
Access policiesDecide who may reach which devices, with rules for files, clipboard and unattended access.
Virtual machinesCreate, start and open virtual machines on your own hardware. An optional module for your infrastructure.
Containers & workspacesManage workspaces on your hosts, including suitable GPU workloads. Hardware determines the possibilities.
Snapshots & backupsSave states and keep data on your own devices. Advanced cloud targets and retention are proposed for Pro.

Legal

Terms of use

These terms govern the use of DeskRanger. We will add the terms for paid plans before sales begin.

Last updated: 1 October 2026

  • Core functions for your own devices stay free. Limits are structural, and a running session is never ended because of a limit.
  • Only connect to devices you are allowed to access. Every live session is visible on the device; there is no hidden access.
  • Paid plans cannot be booked yet; we will add their terms first. As long as you book nothing, you incur no costs.

1. Scope and provider

These terms govern the use of DeskRanger: the apps, the web console and the services behind them. The provider is exenso GmbH (see Legal notice). The contract is concluded when you create an account. The terms apply to consumers and businesses; where something applies to only one group, it says so. Customers’ own general terms and conditions do not apply. An individual Enterprise contract takes precedence over these terms.

2. What DeskRanger offers

With DeskRanger you reach your devices remotely, help others with their consent, and transfer files and terminal sessions. The core functions for your own devices are free (Free); paid plans add people, scale and management. The website describes which functions are available on which platform. DeskRanger is continuously developed; some platforms follow later.

3. Account

You need an account to use DeskRanger. Give truthful details when you register, keep your credentials secret and remove devices you no longer use. If you notice that someone else is using your account, write to us at support@exenso.ai straight away. You can delete your account at any time in the app or in the web console.

4. Permitted use

  • Only connect to devices that belong to you or that you have permission to access.
  • Whoever receives help must accept every session on their own device, and every live session is visible there. DeskRanger offers no hidden access; do not try to get around this.
  • Do not use DeskRanger for fraud, unauthorized access or monitoring others without their knowledge.
  • Do not attack our services or circumvent technical limits.
  • If you access devices that hold other people’s data – for example as a company or as a helper – you are responsible for following the rules that apply to it, such as data protection law.

5. Free

Free covers your own devices and helping people you know. Limits are structural – such as the number of devices and of simultaneous connections; the current values are listed under Pricing. They apply to commercial use in the same way: it is allowed within these limits. We never end a running session because of a limit; a limit applies only to the next connection.

6. Paid plans

Pro and Team cannot be booked yet; the planned prices are listed under Pricing. Enterprise is available with an individual contract. As long as you book nothing, you incur no costs.

Before Pro and Team can be booked, we will add to these terms the contracting party, term, renewal, cancellation, price changes and the consumer right of withdrawal. Whoever books a paid plan agrees to the version in force at that time. We plan monthly and yearly payment, cancellable online at any time, and a reminder 14 days before a yearly renewal. If you buy in an app from the App Store or another store, that store’s terms also apply.

7. Availability and changes to the service

We work on a reliable service but cannot promise uninterrupted availability. We announce planned maintenance in advance where possible. Availability commitments (SLA) exist only in the Enterprise contract.

We keep developing DeskRanger and may change the service where the change is reasonable for you – for example for better security, because of new technology, changed requirements of operating systems or app stores, or legal obligations. If a function you use is discontinued or substantially restricted, we announce it at least 30 days in advance in the app or by email; with shorter notice only if a security problem or a legal obligation requires it. We do not move core functions for your own devices into a paid plan.

8. Privacy

How we handle your data is described in the Privacy policy.

9. Liability

We are liable without limitation for intent and gross negligence, for damage arising from injury to life, body or health, under the German Product Liability Act and to the extent we have given a guarantee.

If we slightly negligently breach an essential contractual obligation, we are liable only for the foreseeable damage typical for the contract. An obligation is essential if its fulfilment makes the proper performance of the contract possible in the first place and you may regularly rely on it being met. Otherwise we are not liable for slight negligence.

These rules also apply to the personal liability of our employees, representatives and vicarious agents.

DeskRanger stores no content of your sessions and cannot restore transferred files. Back up important data on your devices regularly yourself.

10. Termination and suspension

You can end the contract at any time by deleting your account. We can terminate the contract for free use with 30 days’ notice. Both sides keep the right to terminate without notice for good cause.

Suspension after violations

If you violate section 4 or applicable law, we respond proportionately: with a warning, by blocking individual devices, support codes or functions, by blocking new connections, or by suspending the whole account. We take into account how serious the violation is, whether it was accidental, and your legitimate interests.

As a rule we warn first. We suspend immediately if others would otherwise be harmed – above all on suspicion of fraud (such as fake support calls), of unauthorized access to other people’s devices, or of attacks on our services. We tell you about the suspension and its reason unless that would jeopardize the investigation. You can object at support@exenso.ai; we then review the case again and lift the suspension if it was not justified. For serious or repeated violations we can terminate the contract without notice.

You can report misuse of DeskRanger – for example a fraud attempt with a support code – to us at any time at support@exenso.ai.

11. Final provisions

Changes to these terms: We can change these terms when laws, case law or the service change. We inform you at least 30 days before changes take effect, in the app or by email, and tell you what changes. The new version applies to you once you agree to it. If you do not agree, the previous version continues to apply; we can then terminate the contract with the notice period in section 10.

Governing law: The law of the Federal Republic of Germany applies, excluding the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods. If you are a consumer, this choice of law applies only insofar as it does not deprive you of the protection of mandatory provisions of the country where you have your habitual residence.

Place of jurisdiction: If you are a merchant, a legal entity under public law or a special fund under public law, the place of jurisdiction for all disputes arising from this contract is the registered office of exenso GmbH. For consumers, the statutory places of jurisdiction apply.

Language: The German version is binding; other language versions are translations.

Severability: If a provision is invalid, the remaining provisions stay valid; the statutory rule takes the place of the invalid one.
